making a list, checking it twice

lists
lists

this was a week of lists related to travel and things to remember to do beforehand.  lists became a great time filler, satisfying a need to give my busy mind something to do and the satisfaction of crossing items off it afterwards.  lists took away any opportunity to reflect and any opportunity to notice anything else except that another week has just passed since school has finished.  the shock of it all has numbed a bit as time has passed quickly this week.

every year i find myself surprised at how the holidays create a sense of warped time the week before christmas.  and then all of a sudden it's over.  all that rush and preparation and it's done.  and for someone who really isn't participating in the commercial aspects of it all this year, i still got caught up in it.

during this time, i bring into consciousness to be patient. quiet time will soon be here with january.  more yoga and less lists.
